Ok, the Superbowl is coming up next week and even though I only enjoy it for the commercials, I do love an excuse to cook. Though I have yet to have an official Superbowl party, I thought I’d post this for any of you out there that are starting to plan their own party. This recipe is simple enough that you can make it on game day without going crazy. It offers instant gratification from anyone who eats it, and will be gone before you’ve gotten the chance to pour the scoops or wheat thins into a bowl.
This recipe is actually quite new to me. One of the many game nights done within my family, my uncle decided to bring over his new girlfriend, and to impress us she brought over this dip. Boy was I won over! Its best served hot (and rightfully so since it wont get the chance to go cold), and with ingredients you more than likely have in your house right now you can even make this as you read this post. Here are the ingredients:

If you were like me when I found out the ingredients, right now two things will be going through your head “where is that bag of pepperoni… did I eat that last night” and “cream of mushroom soup? gross! I hate mushrooms!”
If either of those came to mind then take my word for it, you can not taste even the slightest hint of mushrooms in this dip. It is by far the easiest dip I’ve made in my life, and even better there’s no way to mess this up!
You start by preheating your oven to 350, once that is out of the way get the cutting board out and dice the pepperoni into little pieces.

I got rather impatient half way through and used my hands, thus the chunks. Another great way to get this done faster is by using a magic bullet (or I would imagine blender as well) just add them in small sections and blend away until its in medium chunks. I think having the pepperoni a little chunky makes the dip taste tons better then if its completely ground into dust.
After this step simply combine all of the ingredients, mix well (get as many cream cheese chunks out as you can) and put in the oven!

There you have it folks! Now keep in mind it doesn’t yield too much (enough for maybe 3-6 people) so if you are having a lot of people over I would double the ingredients. After 15 minutes (or 18 if you happen to be my oven) your pepperoni dip should be bubbling! Take it out and try to at least get it in a bowl before you dive in with your crackers!
Want to know whats even more great about this recipe? The grease from the pepperoni makes for an easy clean up! This dip should slide right out of your dish and into the waiting hands of friends and family. This particular dish I brought into work to share with employees that *gasp* have never heard of pepperoni dip and they instantly fell in love! All in a days work

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe! Leave me a comment and let me know what you are doing (or did) for the Superbowl, and who do you want to win?
Pin ItSo how does one actually begin a food blog? Hi my name is Candice and I look forward to bringing you great joy for years to come? Do I explain my interests, likes and dislikes right off the bat? How about this. I start with a recipe.
Most of you do not know me. But I would like to get to know you, yes you reading this in your pajamas. Hopefully we will be great friends. Consider this my ‘first impression’ post. As time goes on you will get to know all about me, my hatred for brussel sprouts, and the fact that for food blogger I have yet to try a lot of different foods.
I’m all about first impressions. I know that if you don’t like my words, or the recipes I share, you won’t be coming back every week to read about my adventures in the kitchen. This being mainly a food blog (with more to come in the future), I figured to make a good impression would include an amazing first recipe. At first I was thinking something amazing that would blow your mind and make you beg me for more recipes, but as my mind got clouded with recipes for the holidays, and cookies galore, I decided to share a classic cookie, with a twist.

This is actually a new recipe to me as well, I found it somewhere online and thought the concept interesting. Chocolate chip cookies with pudding mix in it? So simple I wish I would have thought of it sooner. Lets get baking, shall we?
You start off like you would with any other cookie recipe. Preheat the oven to 350 so you wont have to wait after your done the dough. Start by combining the flour and baking soda in a bowl and set it aside.
Then in your mixer combine the brown sugar, pudding mix, shortening, butter and sugar. Even now it still looks like a regular chocolate chip cookie.
Add the eggs in one at a time, mixing well after each.
Then get that flour, baking soda mixture and mix that in as well. I find it easier to add some, mix, add some more, mix some more. Once thats done it should be stiff, and hand mixing the chocolate chips in would be your best bet.
When its all mixed, stick it in the fridge for an hour or two, after a small sampling of the dough (to make sure it tastes right, of course
)

Looking good!
I’m all for “natural looking” cookies. I don’t have a cookie scooper, and though I can be a sort of perfectionist, when it comes to cookies I love picking out the oddest shape (usually the biggest) cookie to dip in my milk. Now whether you are using a cookie scooper, or are going au naturale, place the 1/2″ balls on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Now the fun part. When you hit 15 minutes you are going to look in the oven and say “Nah, they aren’t done yet. Give it another 5 minutes” because of the color. DON’T! If they are browned around the edges, chances are they are done. If you really think they aren’t done, give it 1-2 minutes. They will have a whitish hue to them (my pictures don’t do them justice).

Try a cookie while its still warm, you know you want to. Could you imagine the combinations for this recipe? Using cookies and cream mix, for an oreo cookies and cream type cookie. Or chocolate pudding for a chocolate chocolate chip cookie? How about butterscotch? The possibilities are endless!
